What Qualifies As A Political Topic? {KING}

Many aspects in American life are political.

If I talk about food prices, there are bills that deal with farming.
If I talk about Mandela, he was a political activist and prisoner.
If I talk about a political party, you would think that was a political topic.

Alas, I have found out otherwise.

So I need advice on what is a political topic.
