Keep in mind that there is a lot of unknowns when it comes to death rates and infection rates due to the virus in the US for a lot of reasons. First came lack test kits, lack of reporting from private labs, inaccurate reporting, obsolete procedure at all levels of government. One thing is glaringly evident, this country is ill prepared to deal with the virus. Until we have good information on the number cases by community, not states, state and local governments will continue shooting in the dark, cancelling public events, closing schools, and disrupting businesses, needlessly.

Aside from the lack of information on infections rates, there has been a lack of unified planning starting at the top, which means the White House. What we have seen so far is misinformation, conflicting statements, finger pointing, and infighting within the administration. The president says things that are blatantly untrue and his staff has to waste their time covering for him. Worst of all, Trump has replaced capable people in his administration with those whose only attribute is loyalty.
