Fresh internal documents from the Department of Health and Human Services show how quickly the number of child migrants crossing the border is overwhelming the administration's stretched resources.

Driving the news: In the week ending March 1, the Border Patrol referred to HHS custody an average of 321 children per day, according to documents obtained by Axios. That's up from a weekly average of 203 in late January and early February — and just 47 per day during the first week of January.

The same documents, dated Tuesday, say the shelter system is at 94% occupancy and expected to reach its maximum this month.

This is about to take our country down. IN REAL TIME. According to the NYTimes, 76,000 illegals wandered in in Feb. alone. An 11 year high with no reason to believe the # won't increase monthly....
We are very quickly going to become a third world country, with free healthcare for none.
How long do you think we can afford free everything for illegals @ 2,200 busing in per day?
Democrats, is there a number when you finally say, "There is no more room or money to give away in the United States"?

Realistically - what should you do? These are unaccompanied minors, not children who came with families. You can't put them with adults. You can just drop them off at the streets on either side of the borders. And you can't hold them indefinitely per the law.
I thought they were children being separated from their families???

if they are unaccompanied they should be returned to the mexican government to be reunited with their families,,,
No. The 100% child separation policy was under your prior Dear Leader Trump. These are unaccompanied minors. They aren't Mexican. Why should the Mexican government take them?
No, it was not. Those cages were built, paid for, and used by Obama in 2015...
Yes, it was. Obama's administration saw a huge surge in UNACOMMPANIED MINORS. That wasn't the case with Trump. Trump instituted a new policy, designed specifically to deter immigration and that was 100% family seperation. That's where Trump's thousands of children came from. His policy. Do some research on immigration waves during both administrations.
oh yes, all the sudden Trump became President, and mom and dad decided to come with their kids.....

Trump created no "new" policy. The law was the law, and had been the law. Children can't be denied with adults, and can only be released to family members or legal guardians...that's been the law.

Here's Trump's policy on illegal families: Read Trump's full executive order on family separation
