Very few people are talking about transhumanism, even though it's one of the agendas openly promoted by some very powerful and influential people, and the world is moving in that direction. Globalist groups like the World Economic Forum promote AI governance, "The Fourth Industrial Revolution" and the "fusion of our physical, our digital and our biological dimensions" (transhumanism.) I posted a thread about transhumanism back in January of this year, but that thread didn't discuss it from a Christian or spiritual standpoint, and that's what this thread is going to focus on.

So what is at the root of the philosophy of transhumanism? From a Christian perspective, I think the answer is very simple....but instead of just saying it, I want to share a video I made a few months ago, on the root of transhumanism. I know that not everyone likes to watch videos, but this one is less than 6 minutes long... so if you're interested in this topic, I hope you take the time to watch it. And if you do, please share your thoughts and let me know if you agree or disagree.

That guy brought up some good points, like how Sam Altman and others like him openly say morbid things like "Humanity is going to be useless....but that's ok!" Ay yai yai. What a crazy world.

He posts a lot on antisocial media, so you don't really need to subscribe to his Substack if you don't want to.

Well done video, buttercup. There are some arrogant people who are in for a rude awakening.

While I can see your point about the SPIRIT of Antichrist, his coming is for a very different purpose and I actually believe very few, even professing Christians, are going to recognize him.

This discussion reminds me of my coworker who HALF jokingly tells me he won't die because he plans on becoming a cyborg. He really does think he can live forever thru "Science"

A more careful reading of Genesis 3 would show that it was not a lie that we could become more like God. Even God himself verifies this in Genesis 3:22.

Genesis 3:22
22 And the Lord God said, Behold, the man is become as one of us, to know good and evil: and now, lest he put forth his hand, and take also of the tree of life, and eat, and live for ever:

Basically coming to this fallen world and learning good and evil helps us progress to become more like our Father in Heaven and our Savior Jesus Christ. The lie of Satan was that they would not die. We just need to learn to choose the good over the evil. The true essence of mankind is the combination of their spirit and the body. Transhumanism believes that if they keep the body going even if it is not part of your original body that somehow that would be immortality. What a joke. All they dream of is creating a machine that they want to keep running and then tell you that it is still you even if your spirit has left your body. The real you is your spirit and your body combined. Without the two combined, all that is left is a dead body or some machine that they want to convince you would still be you for as long as they keep it running. Your spirit is the essence of who you are.

Thanks! Yeah, I agree that arrogant people like Yuval Harari are in for a rude awakening.

About your coworker....it's very surprising to me that transhumanists or others who subscribe to this philosophy seem to actually believe that they can live forever, or become a "godlike" human, if they live long enough to see those advances in technology. I almost feel sorry for them, because some of them seem to have good intentions, but they're simply believing a lie. And I don't know what your thoughts are on the last days, and the "mark of the beast" (I think you've said on another thread that you don't believe it will be a microchip)... but if does have something to do with transhumanism, I think a lot of people are going to fall for it, not realizing what they're doing.

Is it really immortal if it continuously needs replacement parts?

I didn't even know it was a thing. What is the goal, for your consciousness to live forever in a robotic body? How boring. I think I'll just enjoy every day and welcome whatever comes next after I drop the ol meat sack.

Yep. According to transhumanists, ONE of their goals is immortality, like you said, living in a robotic body. And another one of their goals is to overcome human limitations.... which sounds good, and could be based on good intentions... but overall, in my view the whole philosophy is rooted in a lie. Many transhumanists seem to really believe that anything is possible with science and technology. Anyway, yeah, living forever in THIS messed up world doesn't sound good to me either. "The ol meat sack."

If the resurrection is a true doctrine, you will get to take up your meat sack again for all eternity.

I believe the Mark is Sunday keeping replacing the Sabbath. The Catholic Church brags that they made the change under their own authority and the Protestants dutifully followed along

A letter to the Pope answered by a Catholic magazine

Thomaston, Georgia
May 22, 1954

To: Pope Pius XII,
Rome, Italy

Dear Sir:

Is the accusation true, that Protestants accuse you of? They say you changed the Seventh Day Sabbath to the, so called Christian Sunday. Identical with the first day of the week. If so, when did you make the change, and by what authority?

Yours very truly,

J.L. Day
THE CATHOLIC EXTENSION MAGAZINE
180 Wabash Ave,
Chicago, Illinois(Under the Blessing of Pope Pius XII)

Dear Sir:
Regarding the change from the observance of the Jewish Sabbath to the Christian Sunday, I wish to draw your attention to the facts:

(1) That Protestants, who accept the Bible as only rule of faith and religion, should by all means go back to the observance of the Sabbath. The fact they do not, but on contrary observe Sunday, stultifies them in the eyes of every thinking man.

(2) We Catholics do not accept the Bible as the only rule of faith. Besides the Bible we have the living Church, as a rule to guide us. We say, this Church instituted by Christ, to teach and guide men through life, has the right to change the Ceremonial laws of the Old Testament and hence, we accept her change of the Sabbath to Sunday. We frankly say "yes," the Church made this change, made this law, as she made many other laws, for instance, the Friday Abstinence, the unmarried priesthood, the law concerning mixed marriages, the regulation of Catholic marriages, and a thousand other laws.

With best wishes,

Peter R. Tramer, Editor

science and future genetics have absolutely nothing to do with the fallacies and forgeries of the desert bibles ...

No,the resurrected will be given "incorruptible" bodies, not flesh and blood. These bodies are TEMPORARY
