Fear is the root of transhuman opposition.

Of what, I don't have the slightest idea.

What is at the root of transhumanism?

Rich people that want to live forever and enslave the people.

Actually our resurrected bodies will be flesh and bones, but you are right that the will not have blood and they won't be corruptible but immortal
Scriptural evidence of this is:

Luke 24:36-43
36 And as they thus spake, Jesus himself stood in the midst of them, and saith unto them, Peace be unto you.
37 But they were terrified and affrighted, and supposed that they had seen a spirit.
38 And he said unto them, Why are ye troubled? and why do thoughts arise in your hearts?
39 Behold my hands and my feet, that it is I myself: handle me, and see; for a spirit hath not flesh and bones, as ye see me have.
40 And when he had thus spoken, he shewed them his hands and his feet.
41 And while they yet believed not for joy, and wondered, he said unto them, Have ye here any meat?
42 And they gave him a piece of a broiled fish, and of an honeycomb.
43 And he took it, and did eat before them.

Jesus after his resurrection appeared before his disciples with a resurrected body having flesh and bones.

1 Corinthians 15:50-55
50 Now this I say, brethren, that flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God; neither doth corruption inherit incorruption.
51 Behold, I shew you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed,
52 In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.
53 For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality.
54 So when this corruptible shall have put on incorruption, and this mortal shall have put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written, Death is swallowed up in victory.
55 O death, where is thy sting? O grave, where is thy victory?

Here we learn from the Apostle Paul that this mortal must put on immortality. Thus we know that we must become immortal through the resurrection of the dead and our bodies shall be raised incorruptible. From the previous verses we learn that Jesus' resurrected body was flesh and bones, but we learn here that flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God. So Jesus had flesh but what he did not have in his resurrected body was blood. A resurrected body does not have blood but its life is of the spirit. "Flesh and blood" refers to being mortal. A resurrected body's life is in the spirit.

1 Corinthians 15:44-46
44 It is sown a natural body; it is raised a spiritual body. There is a natural body, and there is a spiritual body.
45 And so it is written, The first man Adam was made a living soul; the last Adam was made a quickening spirit.
46 Howbeit that was not first which is spiritual, but that which is natural; and afterward that which is spiritual.

It is our spirit that will give life to our immortal resurrected bodies but in this life we are reliant on blood for life. So in the resurrection we will all come forth with bodies of flesh bones just as Jesus has and our resurrected bodies will not be made alive by blood but by our spirits. For flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God. But flesh and bones can.

Nobody seems to have brought up Ray Kurzweil. I'm surprised.

There's a clip of him in the video in the OP. I didn't display his name, but it sounds like you'll recognize him.

Very few people are talking about transhumanism, even though it's one of the agendas openly promoted by some very powerful and influential people, and the world is moving in that direction. Globalist groups like the World Economic Forum promote AI governance, "The Fourth Industrial Revolution" and the "fusion of our physical, our digital and our biological dimensions" (transhumanism.) I posted a thread about transhumanism back in January of this year, but that thread didn't discuss it from a Christian or spiritual standpoint, and that's what this thread is going to focus on.

So what is at the root of the philosophy of transhumanism? From a Christian perspective, I think the answer is very simple....but instead of just saying it, I want to share a video I made a few months ago, on the root of transhumanism. I know that not everyone likes to watch videos, but this one is less than 6 minutes long... so if you're interested in this topic, I hope you take the time to watch it. And if you do, please share your thoughts and let me know if you agree or disagree.

I don't see anything wrong with something that extends one's life such as AI. One doesn't think exercise, vitamins, and other life extenders is a bad thing. Think of all the skills you can develop and people you can help that way. I am involved in a charity right now and figure I have 20 productive years left to do this fun stuff. I would like to be able to keep doing it a lot longer.

Though some people say they want to have their own utopia and don't believe in God and so forth, I don't see AI as being capable of that at all. There is no scientific explanation for "life" or "cognition". Those are mysteries and will always remain so.

It sounds like you didn't watch the video.

I would agree that there's nothing wrong with trying to extend human life, to a degree. But the philosophy behind transhumanism goes far beyond that. Ultimately it's about trying to transcend the fall of mankind (which they don't believe in, of course, most of them are atheists.) The spirit behind it is the same spirit behind the oldest lie in the book...the lie that humans can become "gods" and attain eternal life, apart from God. If you had watched the video, you would have known that.

I think there are probably many transhumanists who have good intentions. They just don't realize that what they're trying to do is impossible, because as I said, many of them are atheists. So I'm not necessarily saying that all transhumanists are evil... I'm saying the spirit behind it is evil.

I did watch the video. Thus my quote: "Though some people say they want to have their own utopia and don't believe in God and so forth, I don't see AI as being capable of that at all."

This kind of thinking has been around a long time. I remember, when I was a kid, I had a friend who said he wasn't afraid of smoking because when he grew up, there'd be lung replacements and other body parts readily available. We currently put steel in place of bone for repairs. We have surgical, artificial replacements as well as bio replacements for heart valves. They install mesh for hernia repair, etc. but you see what I mean.

We seem to be always trying to trans humanize ourselves.
