The Biden administration on Friday announced it is returning $2.2 billion in Defense Department funds diverted to construct former President Donald Trump's border wall back to the Pentagon to be used for deferred defense construction projects.
The funds, which represent the unspent balance of the total $3.6 billion Trump redirected from the Pentagon to build the wall, will be used for 66 previously deferred defense projects in 11 states, three territories and 16 countries – including a missile field expansion in Alaska and a school for U.S. military children in Germany.
