Would we have elected him POTUS?

Would the busing riots have been avoided?

After Vietnam, what issues would he have addressed beyond civil rights?

I don't know about your speculations, but some things are certain:

(1) Coretta King, the wife of that upstanding Black Icon, MLK, would have most certainly divorced him for being a philanderer flagrantly satisfying his consuming lust for white women (paid and otherwise). (2) MLK woulda probably pre-empted HECKEL & JECKEL: Jesse (The extortionist) Jackson & Al (Black Racism's Fomentar) Sharpton. I have absolutely no doubt about that.

(3) Had MLK been alive, he woulda fucked up so many times that MLK, as the quintessential PC darling, woulda never replaced our National Holiday commemorating THE FOUNDER OF AMERICA.....THE SUPER GREAT AMERICAN GEORGE WASHINGTON.
