What does the VA have to do with gun rights?

The red flag law shennagins, for one thing. If a veteran can't balance a checkbook ( something Congress is expert at), they shouldn't have the gun they carried in service. Not only that, they will pick and choose which laws they will or will not enforce. Seems a little bit off kilter, but this is the new normal.
 
Why would I show my checkbook to the VA? I use them for my medical care, but do not discuss my owning guns.

Several years ago I had to fill out some paperwork. (The VA loves paperwork). One of the questions was "Do you own a gun?". I skipped that question and no one ever mentioned it.
