3. We want Americans to have a higher quality of life

5. We want for a minority or a woman to have the same chances at becoming successful as a white male who has the same abilities, experience and level of effort
6. We want to restore the US to a land of opportunity where whether you are born into a rich family or a poor family doesn't have such a huge impact on your odds of succeeding
7. We want people of all races, religions, and sexual orientations to feel welcome and as at home here as anybody else
8. We want the US to be number one in the world for education
9. We want the US to contribute a similar share of its GDP to foreign aid to what other first world countries give
10. We want the US to be reluctant to start wars and to always be sure that the US's involvement really is making things better rather than worse
11. We want to be the clear world leader in scientific research, and not just scientific research that is immediately profitable, but long term, pure scientific research
