Do migrants get the benefit of the doubt when they say they are "applying for asylum" like democrats say, or does their application get scrutinized like by Republican administrations? HR-2 is the Republican solution, the Senate version is the democrat version, neither version will become LAW any time soon.

2. True, Trump's policies can be undone by democrat admins, like Biden undid Trump's perfect border policy.

3. We don't need Trump to stay president, any Republican will keep his policies.

Even better reason to write better laws that are not subject to interpretation.

Republicans walked away from Obama. It made compromise essentially impossible. The only time they made any progress together was when they had to work together to avoid fiscal meltdown and even then the conservative base made Boehner and anyone who worked with him pay a price for doing the right thing.
