1. The current Law is subject to interpretation. Do migrants get the benefit of the doubt when they say they are "applying for asylum" like democrats say, or does their application get scrutinized like by Republican administrations? HR-2 is the Republican solution, the Senate version is the democrat version, neither version will become LAW any time soon.

2. True, Trump's policies can be undone by democrat admins, like Biden undid Trump's perfect border policy.

3. We don't need Trump to stay president, any Republican will keep his policies.
Even better reason to write better laws that are not subject to interpretation.

Your solution is single party rule rather than have Congress do it's job. That's unreasonable.

Are you referring to Trumps "family separation" policy. Where there are still hundreds or thousands of children who can't be reunited with their family because Trump didn't let the parents or guardians know what they were doing with their children.

The United States family separation policy under the Trump administration was presented to the public as a "zero tolerance" approach intended to deter illegal immigration and to encourage tougher legislation.[1] In some cases, families following the legal procedure to apply for asylum at official border crossings were also separated. It was officially adopted across the entire US–Mexico border from April 2018 until June 2018.[2] Under the policy, federal authorities separated children and infants from parents or guardians with whom they had entered the US

More than 5,500 children, including infants, were removed and up to 2,000 still have not been reunited as of March 2024.

the bill was sponsored by langford and a bipartisan team (R OK) . included most of what conservatives want.

we could start working on it oct 1 with the fiscal year , but

trump- killed it because to trump. the border is not a crisis. it is an "issue" to beat up his opponents.

to trump, illegal immigrants are not a problem. they can mow his golf course AND scare the rubes at the same time.
The bill allowed 2500 illegals in per day. What kind of a bill is that?

Trump will reinstate his "remain in Mexico" policy to stop the inflow of migrants.

Holy cow, what a read. The courts are all over the place as is the Biden admin. Trump will settle the issue with Mexico.
Let me guess? Trump will make Mexico pay for it?

Congress never does its job. That's why we're in the mess we're in.

1. Obama built the cages to keep kids in away from adults.
2. Courts ordered that children be separated from adults.
3. BIDEN "lost" about 85,000 children (in 2023, more now), many of whom are probably sold as sex slaves, aka "human trafficking".

Provide Link about Trump's "missing" 2,000 children. Here's Biden's 85,000 missing kids.

Under Joe Biden, Have 85,000 Undocumented Children Gone 'Missing'?

Not a violation of law, otherwise conservatives would have been able to take it to court. The law is horrendously outdated. It’s a total failure of our government that we can’t get Congress to fix issues.

Any policy Trump sets can be undone by a future president.

So if that’s the way you want to go, just how long do you intend to keep Trump president?
I don’t disagree we need new immigration legislation.

The problem is we have folks that put demafasict in office that have no plan to secure our border.

As you highlighted trump had policies in place, such as the stay in Mexico deal, and harris and xiden threw them all away, heck they did this during a global pandemic, that’s how little they care about the border

MAGAs don’t really legislate because it takes compromise. They’re not willing to do that.

That was awful!
They never should have been allowed in.

If they were immediately deported, they would still be together.

They learned that from Obama in 2009.
Nonsense. Republicans made it perfectly clear in 2009 that they would not cooperate with Obama on any major legislation. The conservative base sees compromise as weakness.

Dems had huge majorities in the House and Senate in 2009.
Where did Obama compromise with the Republicans in 2009?

Republicans walked away from Obama. It made compromise essentially impossible. The only time they made any progress together was when they had to work together to avoid fiscal meltdown and even then the conservative base made Boehner and anyone who worked with him pay a price for doing the right thing.

He didn't want any Republican input in 2009.
