My favorites include "Piano Man", "Say Goodbye To Hollywood", "Movin' Out", "Scenes From An Italian Restaurant", "You May Be Right", "It's Still Rock and Roll To Me", "Pressure", "Allentown" and "The Longest Time".

I love all of those and honestly, I can't think of one of his songs that I don't like. Thanks for the post.

His best stuff was on the first five, maybe six albums. He had an angry-ish edge to the lyrics and music. After Piano Man, he kind of changed up his style on 52nd Street, he hired a bunch of jazz musicians trying to differentiate it from his previous studio albums... give it a "fresh" sound. It was as edgy as the first five albums but it was still good. Subsequent albums, in my opinion, weren't as consistently good. There were good songs on each, but the earlier albums... just about every song on them was good.

I didn't miss a concert for years, often to two shows for each tour. Until the tour for The Bridge. I'm fairly certain he was drunk, and I knew more of the lyrics than he did. I haven't been to a live show since.

I will, however, be turning on the two part HBO documentary Billy Joel: And So It Goes soon. It's supposed to very good.
