2. Are accommodations made for non violent offenders awaiting trial but not convicted of anything?
3. Is this the policy for misdeamenors?
4. Is there family available to take the children and if so are they allowed to?
5. Was this policy (forced removal of children) designed solely as a “deterrent” ?

Where have you been? Clearly not in the loop. Trump, after winning 2016, instated a policy of 100% separation of families for expressly stated punitive purposes. Children were lost and parents deported without their children.

I didn’t “just notice”, I’ve been loud and clear from the beginning. I’m no big fan of Biden, but Biden didn’t intentionally impose a policy of removing all children from their parents as punishment and intent matters. The only thing that caused him to rescind his policy was enough if his base (mostly Catholics) got disgusted and started protesting.
