Brainier than pilots? Pilots drove the plane, navigators plotted the course and bombardiers pulled the trigger. There was no brain game because they all had their jobs.

I would say whoever invented the bomb sight would be brainer than a pilot.
Flying a sky bus takes guts not brains.

I bet most of them were interchangeable. There is a lot of skill overlap.

Only the lead plane bombardier had to do that. The others followed his lead, but did have to be prepared if he got shot down.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't many bombardiers and navigators wash out of pilot training?
