[Congo Tiger Fish] is only found in the central part of the Congo river system, which is a place where nobody really goes from the outside world, so most people don’t know about it. It’s related to piranhas — it’s a giant piranha, really; they can grow to the size of a large person. The teeth on this one are an inch long, which is about the same size as the teeth on a 1,000-pound great white shark.

more info: per AI
The Congo Tiger Fish, scientifically known as Hydrocynus goliath, is a large, predatory freshwater fish native to the Congo River Basin, including the Lualaba River and Lake Tanganyika. Here's an overview based on available information:

Physical Characteristics:
  • Size: It can grow to lengths of up to 5 feet (1.5 meters) and can weigh over 100 pounds (45 kg), with some reports suggesting even larger specimens.
  • Appearance: It has an olive-colored back with a silvery underbelly, and its body is streamlined like a tuna, giving it a tunniform build. The fish features large, sharp teeth, similar in size to those of a Great White Shark, arranged in a jaw that can interlock for effective predation.

Some of the best eating fish are ugly as hell. Ling cod, red snapper, sea bass, none of them are very attractive but they are all delicious.

Billfish are fun to catch, but the only good eating billfish are swordfish. Marlin and Sailfish are awful. Tuna is best raw, it's not very good cooked. The only warm-water fish that I call good-eating cooked is Mahi-Mahi, aka dolphinfish.

I prefer cold-water fish, all of which should be cooked- salmon, halibut, cod, etc.

I don't know about that congo river fish, but I'd fillet out the fucker and try it. Might be like a catfish or sturgeon, who knows? :p

Its only a matter of time before someone releases them into the US

Mac-7 well hopefully not, that would destroy so many ecosystems, as a tropical fish this would destroy the south

strollingbones not a fan of all the old people living through cold and snowy winters making the south their home, I take it?
