As much as I hate the commerce clause....The feds need to use it to smack down a lot of this sort of overreach by dem states....About time Wickard v. Filburn was put to some good use. ;)

California created a law that arbitrarily and capriciously attempts to ban poor lower and middle class people from the most common, affordable means of transportation, thus denying them their right to travel, and they have the nerve to...sue?

LOL.....Ideas so good in the eyes of the leftists that they are mandatory!

Shouldn't it be the California politicians themselves who need to be sued for trying to deny Millions of it's citizens their chosen and acceptable (by the sane) means of transportation.

Add the fact that they can simply go out of State and buy one.

Why is he suing the T admin over it? Can states not sue congress?

Good. I hope the Trump Administration demonstrates more competency in defending THIS case than in a variety of others.

Time to bitch-slap the People's Democratic Socialist Republic of Kalipornia... on this and several other Supremacy Clause issues.

I say let California keep the ban. More people leaving the state.

This is purely performative. Gas powered cars will still be available to buy in California in 2035 and beyond

Not that easy. Used to be only 10 days to re-register. They want sales tax on blue book value too. If you try to buy one in ORE at zero Tax for certain. Lot of KARENS to turn you in.

What happen to states rights? You can force women to carry their rapists babies but not force a woman to drive an electric car?

Are you morons fucked or what?

it's called drawing lines, you dumb fuck.

Something the left can't seem to do.

The win for America would be a overturn of the commerce clause ruling. CA can die on the vine for all i really care.

Boy, you bat-shit crazy leftist shits would be whining no end then as most abuses of the commerce clause are perpetrated by dem administrations.

It's all ONE BIG POWER STRUGGLE.

Who will ultimately win?

States?
Feds?
Executive Branch?
Legislative Branch?
Judicial Branch?
Trump?
Democrats?
Globalists?

Again, it's all one big power struggle, with middle class America caught in middle of this nonsense and just trying to live their lives.

I would imagine that neighboring states will hate the new law as they would have benefitted from all those Californians going there to buy their cars. :) Unless of course they wouldn't be allowed to register them in California. Not sure how that was supposed to work.

But it was an unreasonable law that seriously harmed all the auto dealers in the state (except Tesla dealers that all the left hates now). Apparently several other 'woke' states were contemplating also banning gas powered cars. So I guess they won't be doing that now.

I'm not surprised though. The left is still using lawfare to get their way. Trump is being sued for removing dead people from the Social Security rolls. That's how deranged these people have become.

A little premature for the Far Left, no?

Trump is likely out of office by 2035 anyhow. Shouldn't they save this piece of lawfare at least until they are actually ready to put it into effect.

BTW, didn't Newsome get the memo, electric cars are now "bad" since they enrich Elon Musk.

While this is true it would be a great case to define whether or not states can regulate commerce like this.

If not it would affect many other aspects of business.
