Mathew 25: 31-
The Final Judgment
31“When the Son of Man comes in his glory, and all the angels with him, then he will sit on his glorious throne.
32Before him will be gathered all the nations, and he will separate people one from another as a shepherd separates the sheep from the goats.
33And he will place the sheep on his right, but the goats on the left.
34Then the King will say to those on his right,
‘Come, you who are blessed by my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world. 35For I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me drink, I was a stranger and you welcomed me, 36I was naked and you clothed me, I was sick and you visited me, I was in prison and you came to me.’ 37Then the righteous will answer him, saying, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you drink?
38And when did we see you a stranger and welcome you, or naked and clothe you?
39And when did we see you sick or in prison and visit you?’
40And the King will answer them,
‘Truly, I say to you, as you did it to one of the least of these my brothers,f you did it to me.’
I forgot to read the book of Matthew this year, and I forgot Jesus' words. I'm sorry for being so tied up about having to pay excessive taxes for this expensive project, but I will try and do better starting right now. It's not like I haven't read this passage before, because I remember it now that I was going to look up what the Lord wants us to do before I posted my veto on this border again. I've been wrong, and I stand corrected. I was going to do charity quilts today, but I think I need to do a little more Bible study before pursuing any more politics for awhile.
I'm a widow, and was counting what little money I had left to pay land taxes with, instead of counting how many people are having a rough time by not having a country to go back home to after leaving due to getting in trouble with drug cartels, too disabled by age and illness to work, and having lost all the men in the family to local warring lords who have no compunctions about shooting those who don't pay them enough money for 'protection.' Our country once went through thugs collecting money from people so they would not break their doors down, hurt or kill them, and steal their goods and money for 'nonpayment.'
I'm sorry, and will try not to let my worries make me make mistakes that are against what the scriptures say. I hope I live long enough to make up for my forgetfulness, and am thankful that the Lord I believe in is merciful and full of grace.
Merry Christmas, one and all. Have a lovely time with friends and family.
