I don't think they vetted them, at all. With the flow at entry ports, and the thousands crossing illegally, even if turning themselves in, the Biden admin, never beefed up processing personnel, and simply never came up with a plan, or acted as if they gave a damn about not having a plan.

I am not anti-immigrant, but I am a stickler for procedure and intelligent operation. Proper vetting procedures were inconsistent at best and totally lacking and without oversight in many cases and for prolonged periods of time. Still, I am sure the vast majority are simply good people, but with the amount let in, in such a short period of time, the system (not planned for it) failed, and a great number of assholes came in with the rest. There is no getting around it.

If they got into the U.S. Illegally, they have no business being here and should be deported, or overstayed their visa they should be deported

My understanding from reading the news at the time, is that thousands did not get out. In situations like that, when survival means getting out, you drop the names of people you helped and if you helped, they speak. I suspect we will find out, if and how he was vetted, and if not classified, who spoke approval to get him out.
