I kinda disagree about the Baking Soda.

My veg garden loves the local water which is full of calcium. But when I got a water softener installed, the outdoor taps had to be bypassed. Soft water has a lot of salt and would kill the plants.

Make your own for next to nothing

1 gallon vinegar
1 Tbs dish detergent
1 cup salt

pour it all into a pump sprayer , shake it up and spray it on weeds

Its best if you use the 20% vinegar

I use it on all my sidewalks and pavers to kill weeds.

But do not use to kill weeds in your lawn - it kills the grass too.

So it's a dangerous chemical.

In contrast, glyphosate is one of the safest chemicals around. As is a 2-4,D mix, which will kill weeds without killing the grass.

There's a reason that no land management company uses the vinegar homebrew. It's more dangerous, and it doesn't work as well.

I have found that Round-Up works wonderfully, and I've used it for decades. For a while there it was cheap as hell. But it's a good product that actually works. If I stopped using everything that could potentially kill me...
