People are used to the US looking stupid. 8 years of Bush, going into Iraq claiming they were after those responsible for 9/11 when the majority were from Saudi Arabia, who the US were allied with.
4 years of Trump shouting off his mouth with nonsense.

Most people are just fed up with the US pretending they're the world's police, but only "police" areas of strategic importance to the US, mostly oil rich countries.

The US leaving is, for most people, the logical choice in Afghanistan.

So, how stupid does the US look? Well, a little, but mostly because it stayed for 20 years and achieved NOTHING. And the US achieves nothing at home either, high crime, high murder rates when it's the richest country on earth.
