Entering the US illegally is a crime. Avoiding apprehension or failure to report is a felony.

Every single person who entered the United States illegally has committed a crime.

Anyone who entered and applied for asylum without meeting the guidelines for asylum is automatically eligible for deportation.

Anyone who entered on an education visa or work permit is subject to deportation after the permit period expires, or if they become involved in protests or harassment of people who are here legally or otherwise.

In a previous thread, I pointed out to you that is wasn't ICE that shot Pretti, but it was CBP. You then told me it mattered little to you, as they were all the same from your POV.

But see, here's the thing, ICE has more training in dealing with people who break the law and on the ground conflicts, the other immigration bureaucracies have training in other areas.

If ICE were eliminated, other agencies which are not as experienced at dealing with law breakers would be back to filling that role, and quite possibly approach the task in a less specialized manner.
