President Donald Trump’s anti-immigrant comments and policies are beginning to hit farmers and ranchers hard, if one California farmer is any indication.


During a special on CNN, a reporter spoke with Joel del Boscaya, the son of Mexican migrants. He explained he couldn’t get any workers this year. The problem got even worse after the election when the talk of mass deportations began.


“That makes me nervous,” Boscaya said of Trump’s threats. “Putting a wall on the border, that makes me nervous.”


He went on to say that it affects his bottom line, “because we can grow the crops but not pick them.”

This is exactly what the RWNJs want - to put small family farms out of business. This guy is in California AND he comes from Mexican parents so they really want him to fail.

Will they still feel this way when they see the food they want is scarce and expensive?

Migrant farm workers are a unique category of immigration and yes farmers need them to efficiently get their harvests in. American farm workers are not as efficient, don't work as hard and demand much higher pay. If this were a systemic problem, there would be a major outcry from the farmers about it, not just one guy.

Fact is, most big agriculture and livestock businesses do but that's okay. Its when you're trying to save small family farms that it becomes illegal.
