Watched "Mr Deeds" last night. Another silly Adam Sandler movie.

I had forgotten about that one, and fell asleep before the end. But it made me think "How many movies did Adam Sandler make where he plays the same goofy guy that girls can't resist?" Dude made a fortune off of one schtick.

Damn it. I've only seen 1-2 Adam Sandler movies and now you've done ruined the punchline for me for all the rest.

Thanksalot. :smoke:

His film named Spanglish to me, is not one of those films. If anything, that film was boring for the most part.

God bless you and Adam always!!!

There's another one of his films I'd forgotten. :) I've enjoyed a few of them, albeit it's basically the same character every time.

His dramatic turns show that he really is a very good actor... Uncut Gems, Hustle, The Meyerowitz Stories, Funny People, Punch-Drunk Love...

I've heard good things about his role in the upcoming Jay Kelly with George Clooney.

Hollywood is filled with fine actors that make crappy movies. The reason is their desire for a steady source of income with little effort, selecting the easiest parts with the highest pay. I believe this is exactly what Sandler does.

Marlon Brando is probably the greatest or at least one greatest dramatic actors of the 20th century. However, if you look at his 50 some movies he appeared in, most his performances were far below his capabilities. He established himself as one the greats with On the Waterfront and Street Car Named Desire. He played in a number of good movies such Guys and Doll, Superman, and The Chase but we didn't see his great talent. Occasionally, we saw great acting such in his 10 mins of screen time in Apocalypse Now and of course the Godfather. However, most of his movies were mediocre and certainly did not do justice to his acting talent. Paul Neuman was quoted as saying, "Marlon Brando
wasted his skills on movies that didn't do justice to his great talent. He was attracted to the women, the high pay, and the least demanding roles."

I've only subjected myself to Adam Sandler movies back when my kids were young, during the Billy Madison and Back to School years. For at least a couple of decades I've stayed away from remakes and sequels. Probably a lot longer as I recall enjoying Star Wars but never had interest in seeing any more.

I did enjoy the original Mr. Deeds Goes to Town and have viewed it multiple times.
