You won't see this happen often, but I have to change my previously stated opinion on this topic after the events of yesterday; Sunday, September 7, 2014.
This is not a matter of a change of heart about the supposed "racism" attached to the "Redskins" moniker. In fact it's much more about the HONOR and GLORY associated with it. I am not suggesting that Daniel Snyder should be forced to change the team's name either. Instead, the team needs to be put out of its and the league's misery by being done away with entirely.
What I am suggesting is that after 22 consecutive seasons without a meaningful victory, and with the prrof before our eyes from yesterday's contest against the WORST TEAM IN THE NFL LAST SEASON, that the Washington Redskins franchise be DISBANDED effective immediately, in order to prevent the further degradation and humiliation of those players, coaches, and executives who have brought such Honor and Glory to the team in the past. Individuals such as Vince Lombardi, Joe Gibbs, Art Monk, Sonny Jurgenson, Darrell Green, and many more.
Considering that many of these individuals are already member of the NFL Hall of Fame, the further degradation of the franchise name and logos by the sheer depth and bredth of incompetence shown by the coaching staffs, players, and ownership since 1994, and to a lesser degree even as far back as. the beginning of the 1992-93 NFL season, the only reasonable option for the NFL is to disband the team to protect the legacies of those former players and coaches.
Futhermore, all individuals associated with the Washington Redskins franchise after September 1, 1994 who were not associated with the franchise prior to January 26, 1993 are barred from ANY further association with the league, its teams, or its operations as of the beginning of the 2015 NFL Year. This is to ensure that the viral infection of incompetence that has been systemic in Washington for more than two decades does not contaminate any other team.
