Washington Post audio of Trump berating and threatening Georgia Secretary of State for not "finding" votes to change election result. Sedition?

President Trump urged fellow Republican Brad Raffensperger, the Georgia secretary of state, to “find” enough votes to overturn his defeat in an extraordinary one-hour phone call Saturday that election experts said raised legal questions.

The Washington Post obtained a recording of the conversation in which Trump alternately berated Raffensperger, tried to flatter him, begged him to act and threatened him with vague criminal consequences if the secretary of state refused to pursue his false claims, at one point warning that Raffensperger was taking “a big risk.”

Throughout the call, Raffensperger and his office’s general counsel rejected Trump’s assertions, explaining that the president is relying on debunked conspiracy theories and that President-elect Joe Biden’s 11,779-vote victory in Georgia was fair and accurate.

Trump is engaging of sedition and overturning the will of the people through fraud.

Trump should be arrested for sedition for attempting to overthrow the newly elected government of the United States of America.

Everything Trump touches dies.

Is American democracy next?
Nope. Not when Democrats are stealing elections with vote harvesting.

Trump lost get over it, we have new president now. Just come to grips with the fact that Trump is a one and done.

Is he though? As teh lies you people used to get rid of him are revealed, why should he not come back?

Let him come on back.
Revenge Tour 2024.

I guess the racist are really going to ramp it up.
Democratic Party = Anti-White

The Democrat Party is what 75% white, so that makes about as much sense as you do.
No it's not. Also those are NOT white people. Just a bunch of goddamn idiots.

So the real white folks are Trump Humpers.
81% of Republican Party is white. Democrats at 59% and dropping.

Well we know who the party of racism is.

Yep, the party that pushed polices that openly discriminate against people based on race, the Democrats.

You're right 50yrs ago, but the party of racist today is the Republican Party.

Name one current policy that teh gop supports that discriminates based on race.

Meanwhile, the Dems support dozens of policies that discriminate against whites, and in favor of blacks and browns.

You lose.

I haven't read through this whole thing. What is the lie?
Wapo retracted the story
Which story? The phone call that's on tape, or another one?
Two months after publication of this story, the Georgia secretary of state released an audio recording of President Donald Trump’s December phone call with the state’s top elections investigator. The recording revealed that The Post misquoted Trump’s comments on the call, based on information provided by a source,” the correction published Thursday began.

“Trump did not tell the investigator to ‘find the fraud’ or say she would be ‘a national hero’ if she did so. Instead, Trump urged the investigator to scrutinize ballots in Fulton County, Ga., asserting she would find ‘dishonesty’ there. He also told her that she had ‘the most important job in the country right now.’”

“The headline and text of this story have been corrected to remove quotes misattributed to Trump.”
So the call was the call, but the Post went out of its way to make it look worse than it was, no doubt to make Trump look worse. I've seen that a few times now, regarding the call. I do think the call -- the actual tape -- was bad, but it's on the press to not just report it, but ACCURATELY report it. That's on them. I'm glad they retracted.

Okay, thanks.

True, it is, but if the actual tape wasn't available to them, and they were relying on a person's information. I think what they were supposed to do - what any responsible media does - is independently verify or state they can't do so (I see that in articles).
Which the Post did. They reached out to the White House seeking confirmation but the White House wouldn't respond.

Did they not respond, or did they tell WAPO their story was wrong?

What was a lie? Trump is under investigation now over that and prosecutors in Georgia are planning on impanelling Grand Juries in the upcoming weeks to seek subpoenas. Shouldn't you at least wait until that investigation reaches its conclusions before deciding it's a lie?

Exactly. There wasn't a lie, the correction was that Trump didn't literally say one sentence or something - but the basic content of the conversation was accurate. The Post reported what a person told them and it was identified as such.

The Trumpsters are trying to claim the entire thing was a lie...kind of like they tried to spin away the Ukraine call made by their crooked master.
Sure, they'll always run with the "fake news" narrative, no matter how obvious something is. That's why the media needs to be careful and accurate. As always.

The tape recently surfaced so they didn't misquote from the actual recording. They ran with what a source told them. Which, by the way, though the quotes were inaccurate, the sentiment was not. Trump did ask the investigator to look for fraud, he just didn't use those words. He said to her if she compares signatures with past elections, they won't match.

The Post reported they did not respond.

"The Post Reported"
So?

My reply's meaning is evident, you sniveling twat-hack.
No, it's not, ya moron. Not even if you've even convinced yourself that it is. You have any evidence they either didn't reach out to the White House or that they did and got a reply?

I don't care. All I care is WAPO made shit up and now two months later is walking it back.

And you idiots crowed about it like a bunch of SJW twats.

You have no links, no verification, all you have is the need to not admit WAPO fucked up.

"If it makes Trump look bad, run with it, don't check it"
Looks like you're full of shit as usual. Post your evidence they made shit up...

They reported made up shit. And you people bought it as gospel when it suited you.

The tape recently surfaced so they didn't misquote from the actual recording. They ran with what a source told them. Which, by the way, though the quotes were inaccurate, the sentiment was not. Trump did ask the investigator to look for fraud, he just didn't use those words. He said to her if she compares signatures with past elections, they won't match.
in this case the public has a right to know the name of the liar

is it a government worker in georgia or a writer for WAPO?

Thousands of posts. All based on a lie, aka FAKE NEWS.

The saddest part is it's unlikely that any of you feel foolish or will even question news sources despite this nonsense.

I'll accept that as you admitting you have zero proof they made it up. No worries, I knew all along you were full of shit.
