I am sure most here forget

They literally had a guy in the tower blowing away dozens of German troops while the solders did not react to him.

They had the stick bombs taking out the tanks like Tigers and Panthers ones. Not sure which was which.

Germans maintained their tight formations and did not break at all even through they were easy targets

Absolutely not.

While rehashing it all makes me want to scream, the worst of was the "P-51 tank busters" bit.

Awhile back, there was a "movies everyone likes but you hate" thread....This dumb-assed flick heads my list.

Realistic or not, the scenes of the old goober at the cemetery in Normandy always bring a tear to my eye.

Right....But one of it's big selling points was how "realistic" is was supposed to be.

It wasn't.
That may be. In fact, I presume it is true.

Still, it was made for entertainment, not for education.

I used to watch “Law and Order” pretty frequently. And much of what they regularly depicted was absolutely absurd; like a pre-trial suppression hearing held in a judge’s Chambers with zero witnesses being called. Etc., etc., etc.

The shows were still just entertainment. Accurate? No. Not really. But even when skewed politically, which I also found annoying, many of the episodes were good tv.

I like shows like Boston Legal better, because you know it's supposed to be absurd.

Geez. If you didn't like that movie, better not watch "Fury."

My wife hates "Fury" because I watch it every time it's on. :laughing0301:
Fury was a joke especially the end when the crew of a disabled Sherman with Brad Pitt wipe a whole SS Battalion out.

Right....But one of it's big selling points was how "realistic" is was supposed to be.

I went to see the film when it came out on the local big curved screen with surround sound, it was quite an experience when i came out i felt like i had been in the Battle :abgg2q.jpg: ok the story may have been a little overblown but the action looked as authentic as i have seen in any war film some veterans agreed with me.

This scene in fury was totally ridiculous as was the earlier scene when they had a battle with several Panzers which outgunned the Sherman on most counts, as for the final battle scene with the SS one man with a panzerfaust or Panzerschreck would have finished it right there is seconds, these war film annoy me beacause they insult the intelligence of the public and trivialize the men who took part.
