Was Bernie always over-rated?

Sanders’ failure is further confirmation of the fact that actual, substantive political change must start at the very local level – not from the top down.

Had Sanders been elected president he would be confronted by a Congress unwilling and unable to implement any of his programs, policies, or changes.

And even if Sanders had been successful in advancing his policies in Congress, whatever measures he might have gotten passed would be struck down by a conservative Supreme Court hostile to Sanders’ agenda.
Yes it is apparent our government, all three branches of it, are corrupt and only interested in keeping the status quo in place...they must keep the wealthy oligarchy in charge.

They will certainly try, and that's the real reason behind the way they are lined up behind Sleepy Joe.

Sleepy Joe is a sleepy guy, he really doesn't know where he's at. His only "credential" is his slavish devotion to B. Hussein O,who he served as house slave to for 8 years. Will be real easy to manipulate if he gets in.

Agreed. Unfortunately, Donnie isn’t much better.

I do not agree. We’re the richest nation in the world, yet we can’t possibly provide HC to all citizens. Crazy no? Secondly and more importantly Medicare for all is hardly risky (propaganda) and it would be cheaper than the outrageously expensive and corrupt for profit HC system we have today.

Socialized Medicine could conceivably be cheaper, but people are interested in Quality Health Care, and quality costs money.

As far as the government providing HC to "all" citizens, that really isn't necessary nor preferable. Most citizens would rather take care of their own needs. Providing basic care to Indigents and the Destitute is a horse of a different color of course. But to inconvenience the vast majority of people for a small minority is absurd IMHO. It would be better just to provide Charity Health Care to the public charges, and leave the vast majority of people alone.

We don’t have quality HC. American’s life expectancy is falling for the first time in decades, yet we have by far the most expensive HC system in the world. That’s not quality.

Life expectancy is falling due to gang warfare on the border and in the nation's ghettos, as well as the massive epidemic of Heroin OD's.

These are social plagues, and really not associated with the health care business.

In actual treatment for medical problems, America leads the way. Foreigners who care about their health come to America. Alex Trebek has serious pancreatic problems and is being treated in America instead of for "free" in his native Canada. English crooner Mick Jagger had his complicated heart surgery done in New York instead for "free" by the NHS.

I’m not buying that rationalization. We have had gangs and drug problems for decades.

America does offer very expensive treatments not found in other nations. This is true but this does little to help those of us not in the 1%, who can’t afford to pay the exorbitant costs.

The number of opioid overdoses really has increased in America, as new super drugs like fentanyl have been synthesized. Junkies have to be very careful when they shoot up something so potent, as the drug had to be thoroughly mixed in to avoid a "hot spot" and OD. Also, its only been recently that narcan has been made really available for these degenerates.

liberals like Bernie are like Muslims without the fighting spirit. they are incapable of embarrassment, though Bernie has been beaten twice for president

No, but your beloved Hillary is.

I never liked her as a candidate. Didn't vote for her in the primary and only voted for her in the general, because Trump was so unacceptable.

(I voted for Kasich in the primary because I thought there was still hope for the GOP).

What is becoming clear is the more people get to know Commie Bernie, the less they like him. Hopefully, he'll fold his tent after being thrubbed in IL and FL next week.
I did some more reading about Bernie recently and gotta agree about the more folks/democrats know about him the less they like him. I see why Millennials took to him. Someone that they thought could reshuffle government largess to favor them instead of Boomers. And why not? It's their time, or rather it should be.
