The Ukrainian President is not about to give in.

"Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated that it would be difficult for Ukraine to conduct military operations without the help of the United States, but the Ukrainian people are not ready to sacrifice their values.
"It will be difficult without your support, but we cannot lose our values," said Zelenskyy."

PS: I don´t think we need to pay attention to that impeachment thing. It is yesterday´s news about a personal opinion of a pro-Russian MP who has presidential ambitions that was voiced in response to Trump´s dictator statement.

Trump threatens Russia with sanctions.

"Based on the fact that Russia is absolutely “pounding” Ukraine on the battlefield right now, I am strongly considering large scale Banking Sanctions, Sanctions, and Tariffs on Russia until a Cease Fire and FINAL SETTLEMENT AGREEMENT ON PEACE IS REACHED. To Russia and Ukraine, get to the table right now, before it is too late. Thank you!!!"

About the results of the EU´s extraordinary Council meeting about von der Leyen´s "ReArm Europe" plan.
Basically, all member states agreed on strengthening the EU members´ armies with hundreds of billions of Euros.
The second topic was support for Ukraine and Hungary was blocking this item. The other 26 members agreed.

"Emphasizing the principle of "peace through strength", the EU states also announced 5 requirements for a peaceful settlement. They sound like this:

  • no negotiations on Ukraine without Ukraine;
  • no negotiations without the involvement of Europe on issues that affect European security.
  • any ceasefire can only take place within the framework of a process leading to a comprehensive peace agreement;
  • such an agreement should be accompanied by credible security guarantees for Ukraine to prevent new Russian aggression;
  • respect for the independence, sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine. "

The lengthy article provides many details for those interested:

Two EU documents have been created as result of the meeting:

Mar Rutte said Trump ruled out an Ukrainian Nato accession and said that the Nato will likely not partake in a peace keeping mission in Ukraine.

Video: Man unsuccessfully tries to flee from recruitment officers. He wields a gun trying to stop vehicles but nobody lets him in. Ultimately he was caught and laden into their vehicle by the recruitment officers.

What Trump and Zelensky talked about in their recent telephone conversation.

Three officers were wounded by an explosion at their police station in Bilyaivka. A women blew herself up like an Islamist.
There is no information about the motive. It might be related to forced recruitment since recruitment officers officially need police officers in order to arrest people.

The Ukrainian President lives for years now in a tiny room next to his office. Very tiny.

He presented Time his favorite pictures painted by ordinary Ukrainians. His top favorite one is the burning Kremlin in this room:

The picture can be seen also in his office during his last year´s New Year´s address at 17:36:

It is not just a picture for him, but a vision, his address unveils. It is worth listening and English subtitles are added.

His approval ratings are up to 70 % after his visit to the White House, by the way. Zelensky said it is because he defended the dignity of Ukraine.
