It absolutely boggles ones mind that we are on the verge of sending ground troops into Iran for no discernible reason, other than the reckless impulsiveness and lack of situational awareness of one man.

Will this escalation reduce tensions in this region? Will our good buddy Israel join the fight? Will they bring their military objective of targeting civilians in Gaza along with them?

This is one of the worst military positions we've ever been in, as there is not only any reasonable chance of success, there is not even a good chance of any outcome other than more bloodshed, turmoil, and a worsening of global security that will affect the entire world.

We are the world's most belligerent nation, barely ahead of Israel.
Who said that? The article says the Middle East. We have troops all over the place there already.

Reading is fundamental.

I think that, bottom line, Trump couldn't care less about his cult now. He doesn't need them any more. And don't forget that MBS is supporting this.

Trump's personal wealth has exploded during this term (yeah, that's not supposed to happen, but we no longer have rules or standards), and he sees money here. I have no doubt that some pretty big "deals" are happening right now, in conjunction with the military buildup.

I'm not totally against it. It may be necessary. Whatever it takes for regime change. Iran has been a threat to the world for almost 50 years now.
You’ll notice the “No Kings” crowd loves authoritarian dictatorships over an American President elected by the people.

Too bad Democrats and the media can't support our country.
Authoritarian bootlickers think the media is supposed.to be a state run cheerleader.

The free press in a free country is supposed to scrutinize and critique the government, so that its populace can make informed decisions.

Maybe you would prefer living somewhere else, like North Korea or Russia.

Then Trump should have no problem making the case to the American people and to the Congress in which both chambers are controlled by his sycophants.

Right?

Then why is he having such a hard time?

WaPo Announces that Trump is going to put troops on the ground in the Middle East just as every GOP president has done for the last 40 years.

Do you support it?
No I don't support another war of aggression in West Asia, particularly because no one in the US appears to have considered how Iran has been preparing for this very conflict since 2003:

As the wheels come off the Iran conflict, it compels the decision: ‘Where do we stand?’

"No attempt was made to critically think through the effect on a State that had been preparing an asymmetric response to this coming war for 20-40 years.

"No effort was made to think through the real impact of bombing a State that has taken all its military infrastructure (including its ‘air force’) off its land-surface, only to bury it in deep underground ‘cities’.

"No effort was made to judge the impact of assassinations of Iran’s political and military leaders on the public mood.

"No understanding was made of how the Iranian de-centralised leadership ‘mosaic’ might provide a fast-reaction, pre-planned response to leadership decapitation.

"Nor was it considered that such a diffused leadership structure would allow Iran to pursue a long war of attrition against the US and Israel -- in contrast to the US-Israeli insistence on short wars that do not strain popular resilience."

If they do it will be because of idiots like you.

Look in the mirror first. Without this sellout of our troops in Iran, there was a real chance of the GOP holding both houses. Iran "canceled" that completely. Not my doing.
