I'm eyeing this knife from Ozark Trail (Walmart Sporting Goods House Brand).

It's a Buck 620 Reaper clone in 7cr17mov instead of 420HC.

The 620 is discontinued.

How bad can it be?

Ozark Trail Pakkawood Handle, 7Cr17MoV High Carbon Steel,11-inch Fixed Blade Knife for Survival Hunting Robot or human?

Where is it made?
I suspect China...

...maybe Taiwan. That's where the Buck 620 was made I believe.

It's tough though...

I'd never do that to it.

Still watching videos.

If you're going that big, why not a Buck or Bowie knife?

Why not just buy a hatchet or a hand axe if you're going big and heavy, and a smaller knife for fine work.

I have 'em. A Buck119, and 120 .

To replace the 119 Special is now $80.

To replace the 120 is a hundred bucks.

Better to eff up a $20 beater knife.

Maybe in the future. Looking for a beater knife right now. Thanks for the links though...I'll check them out.

Made one of these cross draw sheaths for another Buck clone and I think it would look great to make one for this Buck clone, incorporating the sheath insert.

Picked one up today.

It's pretty well built.

I love that offset of the blade from the handle. Don't know why it calls to me, but it does.

Got the best ballistic nylon sheath I've seen on a budget fixed blade.

I've have it for about three months now with no issues.

Saw one at the gun counter today on clearance for $11.50 and it came home with me.

Asked if they were being discontinued, and the answer is yes. They're getting something new in for Christmas to replace it...so if you want one, now is the time.
