Recessions/Depressions can be inflationary or depressionary depending on the whims the government wants to make it. We are a declining high tax nation with social programs that act as a cushion. England was in that situation in their decline. We suffered in a huge way during the 1930's as we were a low tax nation with very little social programs, and we were still a rising nation. COVID disrupted a lot of ways of living. Done on purpose to help get the swamp back into power. The routes and the resumption of production has caused the potential downturn in prices along with the downturn in oil prices. At least at the pump. The people who lost out with the inflation are not happy though. The war mongers are in control again. And they are happy as the corporatists are in the money.
