Well if this isn't an incredible blow to the left's system and power. Walmart is ending all woke policies and saying "goodbye" to DEI.

I'm pretty sure USMB's wokies will be along any minute to tell you how much they hate Walmart anyway. But the truth is, it's the middle class they really hate.

"NEW YORK (AP) — Walmart, the world’s largest retailer, is rolling back its diversity, equity and inclusion policies, joining a growing list of major corporations that have done the same after coming under attack by conservative activists.

The changes, confirmed by Walmart on Monday, are sweeping and include everything from not renewing a five-year commitment for an equity racial center set up in 2020 after the police killing of George Floyd, to pulling out of a prominent gay rights index. And when it comes to race or gender, Walmart won’t be giving priority treatment to suppliers.

Walmart’s moves underscore the increasing pressure faced by corporate America as it continues to navigate the fallout from the U.S. Supreme Court’s ruling in June 2023 ending affirmative action in college admissions. Emboldened by that decision, conservative groups have filed lawsuits making similar arguments about corporations, targeting workplace initiatives such as diversity programs and hiring practices that prioritize historically marginalized groups.

Separately, conservative political commentator and activist Robby Starbuck has been going after corporate DEI policies, calling out individual companies on the social media platform X. Several of those companies have subsequently announced that they are pulling back their initiatives, including Ford, Harley-Davidson, Lowe’s and Tractor Supply."

Who told you that? Most of the people I know who work at Walmart are having to work there as a second job, in order to survive the Biden/Harris economy. Or they're retired and having to work in order to keep their heads above water, in once again, the Biden/Harris economy.

No welfare agency I know of is going to give you a dime if you have a job that pays $15 per hour.

Look at how fast they are getting rid of DEI... while the liberal democrats are still in office. That's a bold move. They waited for Trump to win, but they are not even waiting for Trump to take office.

That means it was something Walmart always hated/disliked. There are enough federal laws in place for job discrimination.

The Civil Rights Act of 1991, which, among other things, provides monetary damages in cases of intentional employment discrimination. The U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) enforces all of these laws.

I know of two individuals (both Jewish, coincidently) who applied for promotions in which a much less qualified black was selected. Both sued, and after two years, won their cases and the positions, along with the pay differential over the two years.

The first case was especially blatant. In the first case, my friend (with a grad degree) and who had worked for her agency at least 7 or 8 years hired a junior staffer - a black woman with a high school diploma - and trained her on the work.

Six months later, a position opened up and both applied. The black woman with minimal experience and a high school diploma was jumped up over my friend and given the job.

I've seen this for forty years in corporate America: incompetent whites being promoted over competent whites because of not what you know but because of who you blow.

Well duhh. That's because Walmart is one of the country's biggest employers, dumbfuck.

You make it sound like Walmart is wore than other companies that pay minimum wage. Actually more than 39 million people in the United States are low-wage workers, which is about 23% of the workforce. You yourself are probably a beneficiary of SSI disability, right?

And of course minimum wage workers are going to collect government assistance, no matter where they work.

But even though the federal minimum wage is $7.25 per hour, the Walmart stores in my state pay $15.00 per hour, because of my state's minimum wage laws. If other states don't have their own minimum wage laws, that's not Walmart's fault, is it?

It's about time. The people who invented DEI must be the same people who decided to put gerbils up their butts for fun. Time to get back to reality.

To still imagine that the world is for workers and other losers is quaint, but extremely impractical if you want to be a winner.
