Thats why the Taliban didnt do shit when Trump was in office. If Trump withdrew all the troops, the Taliban wouldnt have pushed us out with a wave of Taliban fighters in Kabul like we are seeing now.. They did that with Biden because they know he is weak and they wanted to embarrass him and the US. They wouldnt have dared to try this with Trump.
Trump said lots of things that were not true. When he dealt with the Taliban he negotiated an agreement that they would not attack US troops as they left the country with a deadline of May 2021. They never agreed to anything else. The deal maker made a deal to cut and run (that is not a criticism just a fact). Once the Afghans knew they were on their own they folded. The end game may have been somewhat different under Trump, who knows, but the final result would be exactly the same.

Not even you could have staved off what happened in Afghanistan or Vietnam when a power vacuum is created. Trump created the vacuum by negotiating a withdrawal, aka retreat, ie. loss during his last year in office and withdrew the majority of troops in the nation...
The weapons left were for the security forces of the nation of Afghanistan but they were assassinated and retreated before the Taliban, just as the security forces in Iraq did when ISIS over-ran them and confiscated weapons and equipment.

He stated as in the OP, that he spoke to Taliban leaders and told them he would kill them.....
