Less Americans are working now than in the past, yet the US population has steadily increased. It's a fact that Bush had more Americans working than does Obama, and this is especially troubling considering that the US population has increased by 8 figures since Obama took over.I like how the author uses the words "workplace" and "workforce" when he really means "labor force." And then he goes on to falsely characterize everyone leaving the labor force as "giving up." Retirees, people who quit working or looking for work to go to school, people who become unable to work (temporarily or permanently), people who need to look after kids or parents, etc all leave the labor force. Some food for thought ...Yes, Ponzi schemes create bubbles. - Under Obama the number of working-age Americans not in the labor force is at all-time highs.
- Under Obama the workplace participation rate of men is the lowest in history.
- Under Obama the workforce participation rate of women is the lowest on record.
- Under Obama the workforce participation rate for black Americans is at the lowest level ever recorded.
- Over 800,000 people dropped out of the workforce last month. That's almost one million Americans who have given upÂ…in a month.
Because millions of the unemployed have given up looking for work, the unemployment rate has dropped to 6.3%. Obama calls that's good news. Heck at this rate the whole nation might give up looking for a job by the time Obama leaves officeÂ…and he'll report we have reached full employment.
