It is the same question regarding whether or not FDR knew about Pearl Harbor but allowed it to happen.
FDR had broken the Japanese code, which they used just a few months after Pearl Harbor to route the Japanese at Midway.
I should say that the British are the ones that broke both the Japanese code and the Nazi code years before Pearl Harbor happened. And guess what, the British allowed the Germans to have an occasional victory so as not to let them know that perhaps they had broken their code.
In other words, it is often strategic to allow your enemy to have success at times.
Assuming FDR let Pearl Harbor happen, was it justified considering it helped galvanize a nation to fight against the Axis powers? After all, the problem is the same either way, which is that the Axis powers want to exterminate you, so was it wise to make sure that the nation that they wanted to destroy was galvanized to fight them?
This is how I view 10/7. If Israel did let it happen, all they did was highlight the need to exterminate Hamas like FDR highlighted the need to exterminate the Nazi regime.
