I watched the two-hour pilot. It's a typical Scorcese treatment and looks like it might be worth watching. But I wouldn't say it's nearly as interesting as Billions, which is an amazingly well-crafted, insightful glimpse of the obsessively greedy mentality referred to as the One Percent and of the perverse nature of the ultimate authoritarian personality.

Not sure. A never saw mad men, but I have read it's like the music industries madmen.

I still like the show.

Mr Robot is another anti-capitalism greedy white men in suits show, but I still like it when I accept the fact it's fiction.

In no way does Vinyl compare with Mad Men.

Mad Men was an imaginatively accurate and substantive portrayal of the emerging advertising industry during its '50s and '60s era. I found it interesting, well-played and entertaining.

If Vinyl is a substantive portrayal of the personalities and overall character of the recording industry as it existed during its early years I think the impression was adequately conveyed in the two-hour pilot and there is no more worth seeing. In my opinion Vinyl is third rate in terms of story, cast, script and performances. In a few words it is crude, generally offensive, redundant and I won't miss it when it's gone.

they have taken excellent actors and crippled them with a stupid script...ie in the two hour pilot....richie tears the rear view mirror off to do coke....gee never heard of the flat part of your hand.....when you fold your thumb in that little indention is just right do to a line....and in last weeks show....he does just that...wth? just too fake
