Spain has a societal problem to sort out here.

Amazingly Infantino is the only one talking sense here..Stop the game and deduct points. I would add that the stadium should then be closed and the guilty parties should then play in front of an empty stadium.

This happened in Hungary where racist thugs abused black players. No doubt with the approval of Orban and his racist shit govt.

But we need to recognise that racists are the result of their poor ubringing. They are likely to have been raised by racist parents.Education should be the way forward as a first step.

You didn't get that kind of mierda in Spain when Franco was in charge.

The El Generalissimo just didn't put up with it.

Nasty sport fans.

These are francos children. Its a problem across Spain. They havent shed their right wing history.
Fascism, in its many forms, can poison minds for generations. Spain has not suffered the consequences of other fascist nations in WWII, like Germany and Italy, and it has likely been harder to stamp out.

Gen. Franco likely still has many admirers alive today.

You're just ignorant.

Spain's tremendous caudillo is not, and never was a fascist. Franco was the leader of the Falangist movement. Libs hated the Generalissimo because he was willing to stand up against Hispanic Ultralibs back in the 1930's, and they just didn't like it. Ultralibs were committing unspeakable atrocities against Christians in Spain, and Franco did what he had to in order to save Latino Civilization.

You only have to look at the head of the federation to see what a fascist thug looks like. Blaming the victim is a fascist tactic all over the world.

For someone who at least apparently is an american citizen with polish roots you have an amazing interest and knowledge about the children of the roman empire (France, Spain, Portugal, Italy, Romania and Latin America).

I wonder why. :confused-84: :confused-84: :confused-84: :confused-84:

He has fascist sympathies.

Soccer fans don't know how to act, or show any grace or sportsmanship. That's why it never caught on the United States.

The daily work lives of people in the United States are often a fierce competition with real world advantages to winners and disadvantabes to losers. So we compete hard, and any enjoyment we have at our jobs is very much secondary. So sports is a break from that, a chance to compete for wins and losses that actually are pretty meaningless as far as the quality of our lives. It is recreation for us. Whether a particular ball goes into a particular net would never be something to take seriously.

Whereas for non-Americans, work is largely a drudge in which their role was determined by government testing in early schooling, and their systems are designed to keep everyone more or less at a line that Americans would see as just above poverty. Sports are their only way to compete and experience winning and losing. That's why neighborhood "football" teams for grown ups are so popular and taken so seriously. When it is at the professional level, and something like an English team against a Scotts team, it always leads to threats and vulgarity and often to violence.

That's my take on in.

People in the United States utter profanities against a lot of people of foreign extraction. Here are Americans hollering anti-Soviet speech at a Soviet athlete just seeking to sing his nation's anthem.

Spain has a problem, but I get the feeling that Vinicius also has a problem.

Spain has always been a tad racist, they were right wing under Franco, the Madrid centric country sees the outlying parts (like Valencia) as annoying. I got told by one guy I knew that such parts don't have their own identity and cultures, there's only Spanish culture.

It's a mentality. We're Spanish and we're the best.

However I think in this case the racism might be directed at Vinicius because he's causing problems. Then people want to attack him, and because he's black, they go with the racism. When the racism isn't the main point of what they're trying to do.

Doesn't make it acceptable, however Real have had loads of black players.

Militão, Alaba, Camavinga, Tchouameni, Rodrygo, Rüdiger, Mendy and Diaz are the other black players in the main 24 man squad. That's 9/24, quite a high number, but the racism is only ever directed at one player...
"While responses from around the world have come to the defense of Vinícius, criticism of the player abounds in Spain with many commentators and members of the public accusing the Madrid star of being a provocative figure."

"The spokesperson for the Socialist Party of Valencia, Borja Sanjuan Roca, wrote on Twitter following the player’s expulsion in Sunday’s match: “This red card from Vinícius was celebrated by half of Spain.” When he was subsequently told by a political science professor that he should be calling out the racism Vinícius suffered, Sanjuan said: “I will never defend any racist insult that any player could suffer, but this isn’t what happens with Vinicius. This player is an embarrassment for football.”"

This seems to be about the narrative of racism. People who don't understand what's going on are seeing a clear racist incident and then telling people they can't talk about it unless they say it's a racist incident. Anything else and we're going to call you a racist. When clearly there's a guy who's opposes racism, but knows what's going on with this player everyone hates, not because he's black, but because he's an asshole.

How many Russian trolls are on this fucking forum?

Damn.

It's all left over from when Russia made a Lord of the Rings movie, all the Russian trolls didn't get paid, so they're having to find new work. How many Russian Hobbits come on here... answer that and you've solved all world problems.

What if the victim caused the problem in the first place? Do people not know how to poke and provoke to get the usual response?
