I've witnessed it a few times unfortunately as a way of drawing on the power of their enemy and making them invincible and unafraid. The first time was in Cairo.
It is a very primal and primitive thing. Psychological intimidation to an enemy, much as the gory videos of executions and beheadings are used to terrorize the viewer.

Are you altogether stupid in not seeing that this is photoshopped. The only way that a bullet could be seen in a still would be if the equipment used was running at around 50,000 frames a second. I cant see the Palestinians having that sort of equipment or the lab to set it up in. Look at the image and tell me just how large that alleged projectile is, to me it is the size of a golf ball which means it would be travelling at more than the speed of sound. A projectile of that size would punch an exit hole the size of a SUV tyre on the young mans back. So have you got the next 1,000 stills to show the projectile hitting him and knocking him backwards as it erupts from his back in a shower of blood, bone and organs
