Did it not occur to you that maybe this attitude is why Karmelo reacted the way he did?

This whole "you don't put your hands on a black person" thing is not new. It has been going on for some time and I suspect this is why Karmelo reacted so violently to being pushed. It might explain why he dared Austin to put his hands on him before Austin even made a move to do so.

It also may explain why the Karmelo supporters were hurling racial hate and invective at Austin's family who had nothing to do with any of it. But I'll bet you don't condemn that behavior, do you?

Having worked in the admissions field, I can tell you that universities at both the undergrad and grad levels bend over backwards to jump poorer-performing blacks ahead of better-performing whites. They are then pushed through their programs with a lot of hand-holding and private tutoring (provided by the school) as they struggle to keep up with their more academically capable peers.

When did I ever defend him? The kid was tried, convicted, and sentenced.

The fact that he got less time than the black kid YOU are defending (“waaaaa…..the white kid started it!”) is meaningless. The circumstances of the case were different, the judge was different, the jury was different.
