VA "Assault firearm" ban: The stupidity of the anti-gun left

When creating a new assault weapon' -- now, an 'assault firearm' - ban, the VA legislature came up with this gem:

"Assault firearm" means any semi-automatic center-fire rifle or pistol which expels single or multiple projectiles by action of an explosion of a combustible material and is equipped at the time of the offense with a magazine which will hold more than 20 rounds of ammunition or designed by the manufacturer to accommodate a silencer or equipped with a folding stock.

These people are brain dead.

Other than annoy the law abiding and violate the constitution, what purpose does this law serve?
What objective does it meet?
How is it at all necessary?

Why would you, a proponent of more stringent gun control laws, support this inanity?

Words have yet to be invented that can fully encompass the hatred and loathing I have for these disgusting thugs.
They're not making society "safer", they will only make an increasingly large group of society into criminals.
Their terminology is wrong and dumb and confusing and completely worthless.
It's only an attempt to disarm the American people to make their communist takeover easier eventually.
My advice, aside from voting out of office any asshole who would vote for this, is massive noncompliance. It's worked elsewhere before.
