For the first time in history, a woman, Capt. Amy Bauernschmidt, has been named the Commanding Officer of a United States nuclear aircraft carrier. She will assume command of the USS Abraham Lincoln (CVN 72). Her record and reputation are solid, and there's no reason to believe she won't perform her duties as Commanding Officer with the same aplomb and dedication as she has the duties assigned to her in the past...

Leftists will never embrace her.

Well goodness, a female at the head of a ship good for her I am sure a woman can be as daunting and ruthless as a man. I know I have been married to them.....

I ran a disciplinary unit in Charleston, SC back in the late 1980's, and my CO was a woman. She was this tiny black woman; LCDR Moss. As long as you didn't fuck up, she was cool. But we had three floors and six berthing bays of "fuck ups", and she visited her wrath upon them routinely...

When I joined the army in 1982 they already had female drills at basic and they delighted in demoralizing and humiliating men...Just like the male drills....

The question is, would she be a captain if she was not a woman?

IF the answer is yes then all is fine, if the answer is no then why is she there?

No one's given the helm of a $4.7 billion warship as a social experiment...

Yeah, I am.

First, Challenger wasn't a warship.

Second, and perhaps this is something you're just unaware of, school teachers aren't put in command of space shuttles.

Anything else, or are you done failing?

Remind me when someone feels that she can run the Ford with all of it's major issues. However you know the answer to that and so does she

Did the teacher cause the shuttle to explode? Or was she just a passenger?

Obviously you are just another INCEL, in addition to being a troll.

No the teacher did not cause the shuttle to explode, she was just a showpiece for the government proving that any dumb grade school teacher could go into space. LOL did it ever happen again?

Why wasn't Newton a woman?
or Galileo
or Einstein
or Gates
or Jobs
or Pythagoras
or Edison
or Bohr
or Schrodinger

Answer, because men's and women's brains are wired differently.

Anyway the first mate is a man anyway, when they put an all female crew aboard a carrier is when it matters

You forgot to mention that when many of those famous scientists were educated, women were not allowed to attend universities.

You might read up on the following:

1) Marie Curie
2) Ada Lovelace
3) Chien-Shiung Wu
4) Katherine Johnson
5) Rosalind Franklin
6) Vera Rubin
7) Gladys West

The fact that you called an award winning teacher "dumb grade school teacher" speaks volumes.

Actually Newton invented the gravitational principles that he got from the apple with his mind not with a university education, as did Pythagoras and Galileo.

With the exception of number 1 your list is proof of what I claimed not that you will ever know

Oh I forgot Von Braun and Diesel
