People tend to forget what U.S. conservatism was prior to 1945. Before that point, the U.S. right was openly pro-fascist. We even had an attempted fascist coup in the business plot. After the war, with the full horrors of Nazi Germany on display, fascism had to move underground.​

Between the pressure to disavow Nazi horrors, and the need to present a good face in opposition to the USSR, conservatives picked up liberal imagery and ideals. They talked about individual rights and small government (even if they didn’t really mean it).​

--Appreciation and reverence for life
--Maximum liberty of speech, faith, opinions, beliefs, enjoyment of life with the only restrictions being that nobody else's unalienable rights may be infringed
--Fiscal integrity and sanity, necessary law and order, respect for the traditions and values that made the USA the greatest nation on Earth
--a strong, secure, free, prosperous America with maximum liberty, choices, options, opportunity for all.
--Restoring integrity, efficiency, effectiveness in our government and confidence in the electoral process
--Anything else that improve us as a people and a country

What leftists/Democrats/Marxists are trying to protect as 'good':
--Open borders and invasion by tens of millions of illegals
--Maximum ability to kill unborn children
--Restrictions on any speech they consider 'disinformation'
--Imposed rules and regulations and restrictions on most of our lives to 'save the planet from AGW'
--Defense of lewd, vulgar, sexually explicit parade displays, entertainment and reading material/curriculum for children.
