USAID Official Orders All Remaining Employees to Shed All Remaining Documents

11 Mar 2025 ~~ Ace of Spades HQ

Politico:
A senior official at USAID instructed the agency's remaining staff to convene at the agency's now-former headquarters in Washington on Tuesday for an "all day" group effort to destroy documents stored there, many of which contain sensitive information.
The materials earmarked for destruction include contents of the agency's "classified safes and personnel documents" at the Ronald Reagan Building, said an email sent by USAID's acting executive director, Erica Carr, and obtained by POLITICO.
"Shred as many documents first, and reserve the burn bags for when the shredder becomes unavailable or needs a break," the email said. Carr instructed staff to label the burn bags with the words "SECRET" and "USAID/B/IO/" (agency shorthand for "bureau or independent office") in dark Sharpie.
The email didn't provide any reason for the document destruction.

Unbelievable.
But wait -- the Highly Suspicious Shredding Party is Trump's fault, Politico has decided.
The effort also underscores the tumultuous way in which the Trump administration is dismantling an agency that once managed a $40 billion annual budget and had more than 10,000 staff around the world.
Trump made them destroy evidence of their lawbreaking!

Commentary:
Hmmm...., Burn bags? Aren't they used at the CIA, DNI and embassies? Why would a Federa; agency located in Washington D.C. require "Burn Bags"
Even the State Dept just uses shredders.
Would the DoJ consider this as an act of obstruction and destruction of Government property, destruction of evidence?.
Destroying government documents is a felony. Arrest all that committed the crime and charge them hard.
Obviously, the effort also underscores the tumultuous way in which the Trump administration is dismantling an agency that once managed a $40 billion p;os annual budget and had more than 10,000 staff around the world.
Nothing says GUILTY like shredding ******* documents...
Seems Neo- Marxist Democrat had apoplectic fits over a general taking his binder home as just some sort of beyond the pale irresponsible treatment of government documents.

Unbelievable. I hope they have enough security guards to lock these types of rogue sites down and preserve evidence. Also, we better hope Congress can pass a Rescission of all that money in a hurry. Otherwise, I've heard since it was enacted in previous spending bills, it will have to be spent regardless. Or...maybe they can re-direct the 100's of billions to finish building the southern border wall...some REAL USAID !

What does the government tell you everytime you lose a receipt or something filling out a form? They tell you that it means they then assume the worst and you either get the minimum benefit or are assumed the maximum guilty. What does the IRS tell you when you get their advice--- that they are not responsible if it was bad advice.

It should be very difficult to destroy evidence and records at a government agency like that. It ought to require the highest oversight. Destruction of evidence and records like this is an act of treason. It should be assumed that the records you destroyed, since you destroyed them in secret, contained the most heinous crimes imaginable.

The people responsible ought to go 40 years in Leavenworth.

I'd not sweat it. The dems are about like any other oppressive regime, they have everything on a computer somewhere because unlike those that went before them, they are too lazy to write so all that they will be sheading are copies.

However boring its repetition might be , it represents Cognitive Rigidity and a disregard for authority that needs to be punished for ignoring and breaking .

If you enter a contract -- written or verbal ,you are obligated to abide by it or accept consequences .

And if you disapprove or disagree , go elsewhere .
imho.

Here is the court filing to stop the action.

It contains the screen shot of the email ordering the shredding.

So...

#1 Who is Erica Carr (Acting Executive Secretary)?
#2 Who appointed her to this position in the Trump Administration?
#3 By what authority did she direct the shredding?

If it was under the orders of the Trump Administration, who and why?

If she was attempting to impede operations through the unauthorized shredding of classified documents she should be charged with a crime under the Federal Records Act and prosecuted.

you don't have it, i'll hold my words until you do.

Sure I do. You have something against being polite instead of demanding?

You know that the email was filed as part of the court case right and is therefore public record? Right?
