"Since when does not supporting a foreign nation get a US soldier investigated for being a threat to national security?"US Army Sergeant Jonathan Estridge, a 20-year military veteran, says he is under investigation for sharing anti-Israel posts on social media. It comes amid a broader nationwide crackdown on Gaza-related protests and growing concerns over free speech since President Donald Trump’s return to the White House in January.
Free America from AIPAC! Estridge did nothing wrong. He took an oath of allegiance to America not to Israel.
All active-duty military personnel are ruled by the Uniformed Code of Military Justice and as such, do not have the same freedoms of speech as do your average civilian.
They learn this when the sign on the dotted line to enlist.
Before making any public statements to any media, personnel are supposed to seek out advice from a military Civic Affairs representative before doing so.
