Biden isn't giving up Taiwan, and he is sending vessels there, which is a big deal. Japan is considering putting into law (or something that would take effect in the event of) the commitment by the Japanese military to defend Taiwan in the event of China attacking them. If this goes through, it is a very big deal.

I will give Biden some credit for his awareness of the importance of Taiwan and the SCS. Including getting Europe and Asian nations involved.
