Golf is the waste of a perfectly good walk.
It certainly can be frustrating.
It shows in the humility of it...This isn't shocking in the least! The US boast most of the top players in the world, but when Ryder Cup comes along, they fold like a cheap suit! They aren't a team as the Europeans become every 2 yrs. w/o fail! It embarrassing each time as these clowns go down in flames again & again!
Rory comes to the European team and not only accepts of being apart of it but also shows what being a member means to him... Shane Lowry has won the British Open but said this was bigger for him, he honour of retaining the cup...
But two things really clicked with me is:
Rose didn't't know Rory's wife was hit by a beer can. Shane was talking about it and you could see the admiration he had for Erica McIllroy (a New Yorker)... Rory wouldn't tell them as not to upset the team.. Shane said it afterwards.
Second, Rory said the fans behaviour was unacceptable and made very clear this will not happen in Ireland in 2027.. It won't either.. We know Rory enough that he would concede the game and walk off and a vast vast majority of Irish and Europeans would support him. Irish fans a passionate supporters, they are known for it but sledging your opponent has limits and definitely not allowed to mention a person's family, race, mental health,... Best off sticking with supporting your own team, booing in a lot of sports is not acceptable...
He is actually a nice guy, a few of my friends met him here in Ireland... He is the heel of golf from a European perspective... He says the competition sometimes gets to him...

Yeah, I mean fans from lots of sports, soccer, baseball, football and now, it seems, golf.
I like soccer, but I can't comprehend the fans who treat it like more than simple entertainment.
You know they hit a New Yorker... Erica McIlroy is from New York...
And this would be unacceptable behaviour in UK or France... And to be fair, the US players found it embarrassing too...

It's just the Ryder Cup. The last few years have gotten ridiculous and the Euro fans do it too.
It is not very elitist to object at things being thrown at a woman because he was a wife of one of the players.. That is just called decency and can I say a lot of true American Golfers were very upset by it as well... It is so far removed from the game of golf...Thanks for showing how much of an elitist you think you are. It’s quite hilarious
