This is very similar to Planned Parenthood encouraging AIDS positive individuals in Africa to NOT inform their partners of their HIV infection. Smells a lot like population control to me. In many places around the world, breast milk is far safer for the infant than formula, particularly where water may not be safe. There is no question it provides the best and most complete nutrition for the baby unless there are other factors involved that prevent the baby from being able to consume it.

American officials sought to water down the resolution by removing language that called on governments to “protect, promote and support breast-feeding” and another passage that called on policymakers to restrict the promotion of food products that many experts say can have deleterious effects on young children.
