Putin’s biggest problem is that most Russians don’t HATE Ukraine enough to fight and die for Putin. Russia and Ukraine are very close ethnically and historically.

Ukrainian soldiers are ready to die for their country, most Russian soldiers are not willing to die for a Ukrainian invasion

We haven’t been in Syria for years. Trump pulled us out. Even when there we were not in sufficient numbers to do much of that. Most of the Stolen Oil went to Turkey. It was stolen by ISIS not America. It was a bit of a scandal at the time.

Depends entirely on Putin and who caves to his extortions. If he costs enough oligarchs money they may solve the problem themselves; so far he still has a lot of support from his elites and foreign interests. What dictator and his cronies wouldn't want the international leverage they would have if they controlled the Ukrainian grain crop and other ag commodities?

I don't see BDS as nearly enough of a good reason not to shut down his imperialist fantasies. And it's not unbeleivable stuff for those who are familiar with Russian history since Peter the Great and Britain's struggles to contain Russian ambitions.
