University of Idaho charged killer kohlberger accepts plea deal. No death penalty

LOL, the evidence was over whelming
video of car driving around the apartment
His DNA at the scene
Their DNA back at his place']
cell phone pinging
I don't think they found their dna at his place, but you could be right. A good defense attorney could throw some shade on the phone and grainy videos, but he took the deal so maybe they had other stuff we don't know about.

I lost track but I recall police raided his parents house in PA to match what they found at the scene and matched to him, that is generally a slam dunk

I'd love to hear what his motive was........he was going for his PHD in criminology and thought he could pull this off and get away with it?
say he did and was not caught, he would think he's so smart he could to it over over and never get caught

this is like dexter except he's not killing murder's and pedophiles but innocent college kids just having fun

something mentally wrong with that guy but you know the most notorious serial killers were actually intelligent.

one less disturbed person off the street.......thousands more to go

Very circumstantial case, even if it was a solid circumstantial case.

He's not getting out. Ever.

I support the DP, but I also support prosecutors when they take deals to make sure the person can't get off due to a circumstantial case like this.
I think the reason it has taken as long as it has is because the judge wants to make sure all the Ts are crossed and I's are dotted. He didn't want him getting off on a technicality. There is much more evidence than what has been publicized and the defense's actions are pretty indicative of that.

No. Life in prison is far worse than the death penalty.

He will probably get his ass kicked regularly.

I doubt it.

Kohberger is a big enough guy who likes to kill for thrill using a knife. Further, since he has no hope of getting out, he doesn't have anything to lose.

I would steer clear of someone like this.

I suspect what will happen is that Kohberger will probably kill his cellie who is doing a stint for mattress tag mutilation, and we'll see him on death row for another case in 5 years or so.

Still no motive yet but it had to do with one or two of those girls blew him off or something but they were on the 3rd floor.
once he killed one in her sleep her roomie likely too drunk/tired had no defense but he did not have to kill her if she did not see anything.
then to go down to the 2nd floor and kill the other girl and her boyfriend which still seems odd to me, apparently one of the other was not drinking but he could have just slipped out that back door and left

My theorem on the situation is that he just like to kill people with a blade and is bold enough to do it.

Exact reason why you would want to steer clear of a fellow like Kohberger in the joint.

After three years of nonsense arguments, they ran out of straws to grasp. I feel for the families, but I would imagine that Kohberger will be wishing he was dead after being in the prison general population for a short time.
I wouldn’t be surprised if some of the other prisoners disappear him.

The penitentiary can be a very dangerous place, that's always a risk and a lot of crazy people locked up. But I think most of the convicts will steer clear of this character.

unless they can link more to him which would make him a serial killer this was his first attempt, he's going for a Phd in criminology yet he screwed up his first chance like like a newbie? why wait this long?

no something is still way off here.....

Sounds like someone who had a good argument for an insanity plea, which is probably why the state opted for Life Without parole.

Insanity plea doesn't work unless someone can prove they're completely detached from reality and incapable of distinguishing right from wrong. Courts these days are inclined not to accept it unless there's a lengthy record of documented mental illness.

The state opted for life without parole because they're dealing with four murder cases and don't want to lose. He pled guilty and accepted life behind bars. No there's no chance he can 'get off'. A slight chance he could escape but doubtful, and even if he did, he wouldn't be on the lam for long in this day and age of everywhere surveillance.

I don't look for him to survive prison for more than a year--two max.

A prison's job is to keep him alive to serve out his sentence. It's considered a black eye if he gets murdered on their watch. Most prison systems in the US take that role somewhat seriously, though there are certainly examples throughout history where that's not the case. Moreover, Idaho is a death penalty state. Someone serving a life sentence who commits a murder in prison is death-penalty eligible. Not saying it would happen, but it could happen.

That being said, I'd agree that Kohberger is a target. Some middle-age guy with a daughter or some 30-something with a sister who wants to do right by the shank...

so new reports are out and this is really weird.
so he killed the two pretty ones first who were in the room sleeping, unless he muffled the one and stabbed her not even 6 feet away was her roommate and she did not wake up? girls scream loud when they are stabbed.
then he killed her but he really hated these girls, report said the one was stabbed 50 times!

the other girl got a doordash snack at 4am or so, as she was going to the kitchen he surprised her and stabbed her many times, then he killed the guy who was sleeping, had no idea what was happening, did not witness anything so why?

report said he was stabbed many times and there was blood all over the walls, apparently he liked it

other weird one, he apparently did not know of the other girl in the house who heard something and opened the door.
he did not see her but she saw a guy in black, a burglar.
she locked the door scared but she did not call 911 until 11am?

even more weird the one girl had stab wounds to the face but many on her hands, defensive, I would think she would be screaming and yelling enough to wake the entire house.

were they really that drunk? if that guy would have woke up he might have grabbed something to investigate, maybe weirdo would have bolted and he would be alive and the girl that got a doordash

unless they had a night light on how can you stab somebody in the dark? are two?
nothing in the report they found any type of night vision goggles either through his search/browser history
not to say he did not buy them locally, pay cash......that sounds more logical and smart.

he was casing the house from many cell tower pings and video of his car in the area

the one girl noticed a weird guy watching her from a distance walk her dog and told a friend, few days later somebody tried to break into the front door.

red flag much?

one last thing to add, the sliding door in the back, no report he used a card trick to open it so probably a good chance somebody left it open.
it was off from the kitchen with a staircase, they probably had a table and chairs out there to eat outside.

sometimes even in a quiet town.......lock your freaking doors!

1) Write coherently.

2) Maybe learn how to read.

haha, it's straight forward, not sure why you are having a hard time

I read the report........this is a summary so WTF are you talking about?

no I did not cite word for word the report, duh

He's in solitary.
Article yesterday stated he is whining about threats that are being made to him through vents. A former clergy member for the prison stated that he would not be surprised to see him commit suicide.

He should wear soft ear plugs. That’s what comes to mind.
