What Sunday’s Unite the Right 2 rally tells us about the state of the alt-right in America
In a movement that is largely disintegrating, many of the biggest names in the alt-right and white supremacist far-right are staying far away from Unite the Right 2. That’s both because of the aftermath of last year’s rally and because of a debate embroiling the alt-right about whether or not “optics” — like chanting “Jews will not replace us” before marching under a Nazi flag — matter, and whether they should even be rallying in public in the first place.
-------------------------------
To begin with, notice they say "Unite the RIGHT"? Not Unite the Left.
So you can stop with the "this is the left" nonsense. We all know it's nonsense.
And, the anti fascist, anti Republican, anti Alt White and the Anti Trump crowd DWARFED the pro Trump Republican Nazi's and White Nationalists group.
Just watched reporters walking around trying to talk to mask wearing racist Unite the Right marchers. Unlike last year, they refused to talk. They don't even want their identifies shown.
And where are Steve Bannon and other Alt White leaders?
Remember last year? They were proud to show their faces.
Remember, they were screaming White Lives matter and chanting Jews will not replace us.
What happened? Republicans are never going to win the midterms if their members are afraid to show their faces. That's not acting proud of who they are and what they represent.
