Then again, Amber Guyger (off duty cop) killed someone for no reason except she thought he was in her apartment ( she actually was in his). She got 10 years after being convicted in a trial for murder. I know a guy who got 40 years for burglary of a habitation.

Sentencing has been screwed up in this country for generations.

I do not agree with what has happened in cities with crime. I do believe there is a chance to have law enforcement reforms. That means not screwing with people for no reason. For not screwing with people for petty crap. For not screwing with people for personal gain. For helping people and give them the benefit of the doubt. At another level and this is of discretion. No glee making a score for drinking or drugs with people driving a vehicle. Even helping a person to their home. Using sense when dealing with it and not destroying an individual. That went to the wayside. Confiscate any alcohol and drugs.
